Girls room Lauren
For her three children's rooms, Kim had quiet, atmospheric rooms in mind. Rooms with a minimalistic base of quiet warm colours, natural materials and beautiful eye-catchers. I was allowed to help Kim create a children's room design, with this nice and quiet girls' room for Lauren as a result. A room with a pink wall, floral wallpaper, wooden children's room furniture and the most beautiful accessories.
Girls room styling pink
In Lauren's nursery, the base was already ideal: a concrete floor, black built-in cupboards, a pink wall and a beautiful large window. We supplemented that base with a cheerful floral wallpaper that was a nice match in terms of colour. We went for a practical layout with a larger bed, a play corner and a wall-filling cupboard. Kim: “In Lauren's room, I really love the String cupboards that we used. It works really well here. In addition to a statement and storage option, it also immediately provides a nicely defined space to display personal belongings and beautiful accessories. Really ideal!”
Advice for your child's room
When furnishing their new home, decorating the children's rooms was a favorite project of Kim's. "I was really looking forward to it, because secretly I really have a love for interior design. I had ideas, over time I had already collected beautiful individual items and I know very well what I like and don't like. Sounds like a done deal, but nothing could be further from the truth. Because how do you ensure that everything comes together and fits? That's what I really got stuck on. Creating atmosphere and personality with accessories was also a challenge for this minimalist. I was already getting restless at the thought of all the stuff, but I also realized very well that that is exactly what makes the children's room a nice personal place. I couldn't figure it out myself, because how do you ensure that it doesn't become cluttered? I needed to see the whole picture, but I couldn't imagine it yet. That's exactly what Elina is a star at, she helped me design the children's rooms of all three children. A children's room needs a vision. I really learned that."
Peaceful nursery decor
Kim had quiet, atmospheric rooms in mind for the children's rooms. Rooms that the children would enjoy for a long time, in a base of quiet warm colours, natural materials and beautiful eye-catchers. "And that worked! I am still amazed at what colour and wallpaper can do, such atmosphere makers! The children love their things, from mirrors to wall lamps, from bookshelves to paintings. They appreciate those little things that make their room so unique."
